Take the new site live, let customers check out directly, and leave e-Impact behind

Chad's new site is ready and we're not touching the design. The work is underneath it: get it off e-Impact's servers and onto your own, turn "add to quote" into real checkout for your furniture, get your Wisconsin/Minnesota and FedEx shipping calculating correctly, and move your CRM somewhere that actually talks to your Gmail.

Estimate
$1,500
hourly @ $40/hr · firm after file review
Timeline
~4 weeks
from backup file received
Scope
4 milestones
migration + checkout + CRM
Shipping logic
WI/MN + FedEx
flat local rate, free-to-buyer FedEx

What we heard on our call

One thing to flag up front: the numbers on this page are our best estimate from the call. You mentioned your "All in One WP Migration" export was at 84% when we hung up — once that backup file lands, we'll deploy it, actually look at how your products and WooCommerce setup are built, and send a confirmed scope within a couple of hours. If anything changes, we'll tell you before we touch Milestone 1.

What's included

Off e-Impact, onto your own hosting

We deploy your exported backup, stand it up on hosting in your name, and cut over your domain (which you already own via GoDaddy) with a proper rollback point and low DNS TTL, so we're never stuck waiting hours if something needs fixing.

Furniture, fully purchasable

Every product goes from "add to quote" to a real WooCommerce checkout: buy directly on the site, in-stock buildings keep their deposit-and-reserve flow exactly as today.

Your actual shipping, configured

Your zip-code delivery map becomes the local flat-rate logic (with the white-glove assembled-delivery charge), and FedEx-rated items outside WI/MN are priced in so checkout shows free shipping to the buyer.

A CRM that actually works for you

We recommend (not build) a CRM that mirrors customer replies into your Gmail, sends bulk or segmented campaigns, and tracks e-commerce orders — then import your ~12,000 already-exported customer records into it.

What we checked before quoting

Confirmed

Who we're working with

Elvie Martin, founder of Northwood Outdoor / Northwood Industries Inc., Hayward, WI — a 20+ year local business with a long-running, consistent web presence. No red flags.

Pending your files

The exported backup

You have WordPress admin access but not server access, so the migration plan — and the firm hours behind this estimate — depends on reviewing the "All in One WP Migration" export once it finishes and reaches us.

Design and theme

Chad's Bloxy-theme build on new.northwoodoutdoor.com is the design we ship. No redesign work is in this scope.

Worth a quick fix

Mobile page speed

Running PageSpeed Insights live on the call showed the new site is in good shape on desktop, with a lag on mobile. Not something you asked for, but cheap to tighten up while we're already in there.

Milestones and pricing

Billed hourly at our $40/hr ad hoc rate, scoped to land at or under the $1,500 you had in mind. These are our best estimate from the call — we'll confirm exact hours once your backup file is in hand, and flag it immediately if the real scope moves the number.

Milestone 1
Week 1

Backup review & firm plan

Deploy your exported site to a staging environment, inventory WooCommerce, products and plugins, and send back a confirmed itemized scope and hours.

$180~4.5 hrs
Milestone 2
Weeks 1–2

Migration & launch prep

Move Chad's site off e-Impact's servers onto hosting in your name, point your GoDaddy domain at it with a rollback point, SSL and redirect checks.

$400~10 hrs
Milestone 3
Weeks 2–3

E-commerce checkout & shipping

Furniture catalog moved from add-to-quote to direct purchase; WI/MN flat-rate local delivery with white-glove option, and FedEx shipping priced in as free to the buyer.

$560~14 hrs
Milestone 4
Week 4

CRM move, QA & go-live

Recommended CRM configured and connected to Gmail, your ~12,000 exported customer records imported, checkout and shipping tested end to end, mobile speed check, go-live, handoff notes for Chad.

$360~9 hrs
Target total (Phase 1)$1,500

Not included above: the live color-swatch preview you flagged. We didn't discuss cost or time for it on the call, so once we're in the files we'll come back with a separate, small quote for that add-on rather than guess at it here.

A first look: the new checkout

Concept only — your homepage and theme stay exactly as Chad built them. This is the piece that's actually changing: a furniture product page that sells directly, with real color options and the right shipping shown at a glance.

Concept only · tap a color swatch and the preview updates live · shipping option shown is whichever applies to the buyer's address

After launch: care plans

Once this is live, Chad can run day-to-day content himself. For the parts that benefit from a developer keeping an eye on things — plugin updates, security, backups — here's what we'd suggest.

PlanWhat it coversMonthly
EssentialMonthly WordPress and plugin updates (tested on staging), daily backups, uptime monitoring$99
Standard RecommendedEverything in Essential, weekly updates, security monitoring and malware scans, 1 hour of changes each month$199
PriorityEverything in Standard, same-day response on urgent issues, 3 hours of changes, monthly speed report$349
Ad hoc workNew pages, extra shipping zones, the color-swatch add-on, or anything else as it comes up$40 / hour

When is it done?

This phase is done when northwoodoutdoor.com is live on your own hosting with Chad's design untouched, every piece of furniture can be bought directly instead of quoted, WI/MN and FedEx shipping both calculate correctly at checkout, and your new CRM is receiving customer replies straight into your Gmail with your 12,000 records already in it.

How we work

Next steps

  1. Finish and upload the backup export via Upwork — it was at 84% when we spoke.
  2. We deploy it, confirm the itemized scope and hours, and flag anything that changes the estimate.
  3. Start Milestone 1 on Upwork, with a check-in each week through go-live.
